Trunks

No... I'm not referring to the rear of a car. I'm referring to good, old-fashioned trunks used as luggage. Like featured in this ad:

With all of my summer trips, I've been lusting over some wonderful luggage.  How wonderful would it be to walk through an airport carrying a trunk? If I'm going to be carrying a suitcase, I would prefer it to be vintage and attractive.  Suitcases made today look all the same to me! Yes, you can change the color and add some pockets, but the basic design is basically the same. I would love to have a suitcase that stood out from the crowd!  Here are a few I've been dreaming of (not literally!).

I love the overlapping detail on this one.  It reminds me of those seatbelt bags (more on those later)! I also love the gold hardware on it. The studs add just the right amount of metallics.

How wonderful are the medallions on these?  I wouldn't carry one of these through an airport, but they would be a fabulous addition to a home!  They seem Pirates of the Caribbean esque to me!

How cute are these little round suitcases?  They remind me a lot of hat boxes!  It would be a great carry on!  It would be perfect for a weekend getaway.

If you're looking for some more long-term travel, one of these trunks would be perfect.  My mom still has the trunk she took with her to college! We still use it around the house & used it when we moved.  The wheels are a nice addition to make transport easier.

Finally, how cute are these???  I've had the song "Postcard from Paris" stuck in my head the past couple of days and it has me wanting a trip to Paris!  These Paris inspired trunks might just do the trick, though.  They would also be a wonderful decorative addition to any home!

What do you think? Would you ever carry a trunk suitcase?

P.S. Happy 4th of July!!

When I was younger I went to summer camp for ten days. I packed all of my belongings into a trunk! It was great! Granted it took my dad to carry it but it served as a great card table in my cabin and flat surface to write on throughout the week.
