When Total Frat Move contacted me about doing a review of Dirty Rush, I'll admit I was a little skeptical. As much as I get a good laugh from TFM, it can highlight some of the more negative parts of Greek Life. I agreed out of curiosity - after all I had seen quite a few reviews that said the book was an accurate description of Greek life.
I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised! Not only was Dirty Rush good, it was pretty accurate in terms of today's Greek life. I won't say 100% accurate because this is a piece of fiction and I believe all Greek experiences are different. We are a part of different chapters and different cultures, even though we have the same fundamental ideals.
The general idea of sorority was the same I've experienced at MSU, even if some of the particular details weren't exactly the same. We don't have a girl who will sweep in to save the day, but my sisters always have my back. I'm also very grateful that my chapter hasn't had a scandal like Beta Zeta!
Dirty Rush is an easy read. I took it on the plane for spring break and it was perfect brain candy for my flight! This is the epitome of a perfect spring break read for me. I breezed through it and enjoyed reading it. It kept me hooked, the drama was shocking and I wanted to know what was going to happen next!
Overall, I would recommend picking up a copy of Dirty Rush!
